All Magazines

ATTENTION: As of 10/2/2024 with the passing of the H.4885 gun law, requirements in Massachusetts have been drastically re-written. Check out our article here on how that impacts Magazine ownership.

As of 8/1/2024 MA Dealers are no longer able to sell “Pre-Ban ’94” magazines to Licensed Residents. Only to Law Enforcement or out of state residents.

A magazine, often simply called a mag, is an ammunition storage and feeding device for a repeating firearm, either integral within the gun (internal/fixed magazine) or externally attached (detachable magazine).

The magazine functions by holding several cartridges within itself and sequentially pushing each one into a position where it may be readily loaded into the barrel chamber by the firearm’s moving action.

The detachable magazine is sometimes colloquially referred to as a “clip”, although this is technically inaccurate since a clip is actually an accessory device used to help load ammunition into a magazine or cylinder.
