Regarding the H.4885 Emergency Preamble

EDIT: This has now come to pass. We’re working on a new post that goes over some of the impacts to our business and gun owners in the state. Please stay tuned!

It has been rumored that Gov. Healey will be adding an Emergency Preamble to the H.4885 Gun Bill.

This will be moving the effective date up from October 23, 2024 to the day the Preamble is signed. This date is claimed to be Wednesday October 2, 2024. Shortening the window we can further sell and transfer long guns in MA to 24hrs.

After that date, we will only be able to transfer pistols that are on the Massachusetts approved firearms roster and the additional Attorney General pistol regulations. That is until we receive guidance on what long guns are actually permissible under this new, nebulous legislation.

Transfers of any Pre-Ban 1994 “Assault-Style” firearms to Massachusetts Residents will be on hold until said guidance is received.

We will also no longer be able to transfer Pre-Ban standard capacity magazines to Massachusetts Residents.

Please contact us if you would like to purchase something before you are no longer able to. The hour is late.
